SACRAMENTO, Calif. (PSN) — Sacramento police are investigating the death of a woman who was found deceased late Thursday night in North Sacramento.
According to Sacramento Police Department Public Information Officer Anthony Gamble, officers responded just before midnight to reports of a woman down in the 2300 block of Rene Avenue.
Responding officers located an adult female who was deceased at the scene.
At this time, Sacramento police have not released additional details regarding the circumstances surrounding the death.
According to preliminary reports from the scene, the woman was reportedly found with a knife in her neck. Additionally, several individuals were reportedly detained at a nearby residence as officers worked to secure the area and gather information. Authorities have not confirmed those details, and it remains unclear whether any arrests have been made.
Multiple police units were observed in the neighborhood overnight as investigators and CSI processed the scene.
