​SACRAMENTO, Calif. (PSN) — A man was found fatally shot early Saturday in a Sacramento County neighborhood, authorities said.
Deputies with the Sacramento County Sheriff's Office responded about 12:20 a.m. to the 4600 block of Ashdale Court after a caller reported hearing what sounded like a gunshot. The caller later reported seeing a man lying on the grass.
When deputies arrived, they located an adult male with at least one apparent gunshot wound. Deputies began providing medical aid until personnel from the Sacramento Metropolitan Fire District arrived and pronounced the man dead at the scene.
Homicide detectives and crime scene investigators are processing the scene, canvassing the area and interviewing potential witnesses. Authorities said the victim has not yet been identified, and no suspect information has been released.
The investigation remains active and ongoing.
