Woman Critically Injured in Gateway Center Stabbing

​​SACRAMENTO, CA (PSN)- A woman was critically injured Tuesday evening following a stabbing incident in the Gateway Center of Sacramento, according to the Sacramento Police Department.

Police responded just before 6:30 p.m. to reports of a stabbing near West El Camino Avenue and Gateway Oaks Drive. Responding officers located an adult female suffering from at least one stab wound at a gas station in the area, Sacramento police spokesperson Officer Anthony Gamble said in a media release issued at 7:19 p.m.

The victim was transported to an area hospital in critical condition.

Investigators initially believed the stabbing may have occurred at a different location than where the victim was found. As of 8:06 p.m., officers were still working to determine the primary crime scene and gather suspect information.

Police said the woman remained in critical condition and was undergoing surgery Tuesday night.

No arrests had been announced as of publication time, and investigators continued searching for any potential suspect information.
