SACRAMENTO, Calif. (PSN) — An adult man died following a collision involving a vehicle and a pedestrian near the 400 block of Bannon Street early Saturday, according to the Sacramento Police Department.

Officers responded just after 4:45 a.m. Oct. 24 and found the man with life-threatening injuries. Despite lifesaving measures, he was pronounced dead at the scene, police said.

The other involved driver was not located, and police said they had no suspect information to release.

Detectives from the department’s Major Collision Investigation Unit and crime scene investigators responded to take over the investigation. Police said they would process the scene, canvass the area and interview witnesses.

PSN spoke with eyewitnesses who said the man’s body had been in front of the driveway at Pro TruckWorx LLC and identified that area as the incident location. The police statement provided to PSN identifies the location as the 400 block of Bannon Street.

When PSN visited around midday, streets were open and no active police scene was visible. PSN photographed and recorded general views of the area after the scene had cleared.

The Sacramento County Coroner’s Office will release the man’s identity after his next of kin have been notified. The circumstances of the collision remain under investigation.
