SACRAMENTO, Calif. (PSN) — A 1-year-old girl died and an adult man was injured Sunday after a vehicle collided with two pedestrians inside Saint Mary's Cemetery, according to the Sacramento Police Department.
Officers responded just after 4:45 p.m. Nov. 1 to reports of a vehicle-versus-pedestrian collision in the 6700 block of 21st Avenue, inside the cemetery grounds.
Responding officers located an adult man and a 1-year-old child involved in the collision. Both were transported to an area hospital, where the girl died despite lifesaving measures, police said. The man's injuries were not life-threatening.
A person of interest was detained, according to a written statement provided by Sacramento police public information officer Allison Smith. Detectives were working to determine that person's involvement in the collision and whether driving under the influence was a factor.

The investigation remains active. Anyone with information about the collision is asked to contact the Sacramento Police Department at (916) 808-5471.
