​Shooting Investigation on Stockton Boulevard Leads to Female Suspect Arrest

SACRAMENTO, Calif. (PSN) — A shooting investigation remained underway Thursday evening after officers responded to reports of gunfire along Stockton Boulevard, according to the Sacramento Police Department.

Police said officers were dispatched just before 6:45 p.m. to the 5400 block of Stockton Boulevard after receiving reports of a shooting. Responding officers located a victim suffering from at least one gunshot wound.

The victim was transported to an area hospital for treatment. Authorities have not released the extent of the injuries or the identity of the victim.

Investigators remained on scene Thursday night processing evidence and working to determine the circumstances surrounding the shooting.

In an update issued at 8:25 p.m., Sacramento police announced that an adult female suspect had been arrested on charges related to the shooting.

No additional information regarding a possible motive, the relationship between the suspect and victim, or pending charges was immediately available Thursday night.

The investigation remains active.
