Pursuit From Sacramento to Davis Ends in Crash, Two Detained

​SACRAMENTO, Calif. (PSN)— A Sacramento Police Department operation Thursday night led to a vehicle pursuit that stretched from Sacramento into Yolo County before ending in a crash near Davis, according to police.

Police spokesperson Allison Smith said officers involved in a preplanned operation attempted to stop a vehicle just before 8:45 p.m. in the area of Broadway and 3rd Street in Sacramento. The driver failed to stop, prompting a pursuit.

According to police, the suspect vehicle traveled through the area of Freeport Boulevard and Broadway before continuing south toward Freeport Boulevard and Florin Road. The vehicle later entered Interstate 5 northbound at a high rate of speed before transitioning onto westbound Highway 50 toward Davis.

Authorities said the pursuit ended after the suspect vehicle collided with an unrelated vehicle near Covell Boulevard and Highway 113 in Davis.

Police said two suspects attempted to flee on foot following the collision but were ultimately detained by officers.

No serious injuries were reported, according to the Sacramento Police Department.

The investigation remains ongoing as officers continue processing the incident scene and reviewing the circumstances surrounding the pursuit and collision.
