UPDATE 12/30/2018 at 3:55 PM: According to the Sacramento Police Department, a total of four people were shot in this incident. One male adult died was pronounced deceased at the scene, with another male adult pronounced deceased at the hospital.
Sacramento police officers are investigating after multiple people were shot in Downtown Sacramento overnight.
Around 1:50 a.m., officers responded to the parking garage at L and 7th Streets for reported shots fired.
When officers arrived, they found two victims suffering from gunshot wounds. One victim had a gunshot wound to the head, the other victim had a gunshot wound to the foot.
A short time later, officers were informed of an additional two gunshot wound victims that had been dropped off at Kaiser Permanente's South Sacramento Medical Center. Officers were able to confirm the victims were related to the Downtown incident.
Officers from other patrol districts outside the Downtown area were called in to assist with a large crowd that was present during the incident.
A two block perimeter was established around the area during the investigation.
