Suspect Named in October 2018 Homicide

This week, via the Sacramento Valley Crime Stoppers, the Sacramento Police Department released the name of the homicide suspect as 19-year-old Wendell Gerrold Celestine. Two photographs of the suspect were also released.

According to a previous press release, Sacramento police officers responded to the 2000 block of West El Camino Avenue around 2 a.m. Saturday, October 27, 2018 for reports of someone being shot. When officers arrived, they found the victim, later identified as 21-year-old Sacramento resident Luis Diaz-Cervantes, suffering from a gunshot wound. Paramedics declared Cervantes deceased at the scene.

The Crime Stoppers website shows Celestine's last known address on El Baset Court in Fairfield. Celestine is considered to be armed and dangerous.
