SACRAMENTO, Calif.(PSN) — A man suspected of stabbing another man was taken into custody following a standoff with Sacramento police Sunday evening.
Officers responded shortly before 4:30 p.m. to a reported assault involving a knife in the 500 block of Dunbarton Circle, according to reports.
Responding officers found an adult man suffering from a stab wound. He was transported to an area hospital with injuries that were not considered life-threatening.
The adult male suspect barricaded himself inside a residence, prompting a response from the Sacramento Police Department’s SWAT team and crisis negotiators.
Working to peacefully resolve the standoff, officers safely detained the suspect after breaching the residence with the ROOK and deploy gas, according to reports.
Police have not released the identities of the victim or suspect. Information regarding potential charges was not immediately available.
