Right now, fire and medical crews are working a major accident that occurred at Florin Road and Power Inn Road which occurred about 5:30 p.m. Sunday evening.
Prior to the incident, the Sacramento Sheriff's department was engaged in a pursuit that ended in a multi casualty incident. (MCI does not indicate deaths... it is the designator for major accidents with multiple patients, and triggers response level and protocols for first responders).
According to fire radio reports, there were two scenes: one at the intersection and a secondary scene just south of Florin on Power Inn.
Crews reported a total of four patients: three critical and one minor. Two of the critical patients were reported to be pediatric. The critical patients were transported to area hospitals; the minor patient refused transport.
One subject from the pursuit is in custody. At the time of posting, we don't have any details on the actual pursuit or the arrest.
California Highway Patrol is on scene investigating. Road closures are in effect in the area. Reroute and avoid the area.
