Smoke Alarm Saves Sleeping Family, Tahoe Park, Sacramento, CA

Just after 12:20 Sunday morning, firefighters responded to a reported house fire on 8th Avenue near 63rd Street.

According to the Sacramento Fire Department, the three occupants of the home were sleeping upstairs when the fire broke out. The smoke detector awakened the lady of the house and she discovered a fire in the garage.

All three occupants were able to escape without injury. The family has been displaced and the red cross was called to assist.

The cause is currently under investigation.
