POLICE: Homicide Investigation – North B Street and Bannon Street

THIS IS A DIRECT REPOST OF THE SACRAMENTO POLICE DEPARTMENT PRESS RELEASE

On Friday, May 31, 2019, at approximately 10:06 p.m., officers from the Sacramento Police Department were called to the area of North B Street and Bannon Street regarding a female who was injured.

Officers arrived and located a female adult suffering from trauma to her upper body. Responding officers administered first aid until relieved by fire department personnel. Despite life saving measures, this female was pronounced deceased at the scene.

Officers conducted an initial canvas of the area for witnesses and evidence. Homicide Detectives and Crime Scene investigators have been called to the scene to take over the investigation. At this time, a motive for the crime has not been determined. Based on preliminary information, detectives believe this was an isolated incident and there is no current threat to our community related to this investigation.

The identity of the female victim who died during this incident will be released by the Sacramento County Coroner’s Office once next of kin has been notified.
