POLICE: Follow-Up Investigation Leads to Multiple Arrests for Attempt Murder

On Sunday, August 25, 2019, at approximately 10:16 p.m., officers from the Sacramento Police Department responded to the 2800 block of Yreka Avenue regarding a shooting. Responding officers determined that three adults were shot, all three sustained non-life-threatening injuries. It was determined two of the shooting victims were unintended targets, including one elderly female.

Officers conducted an initial canvas of the area for witnesses and evidence. Since the original call, patrol officers, gang officers and detectives have conducted extensive follow-up investigation. Their diligent efforts have led to the arrest of two suspects responsible for this crime. On Tuesday, August 27, 2019, 21-year-old Seannay Eckley was arrested and charged with attempt murder, felony resisting, and conspiracy related to this incident. Additionally, 21-year-old Andrew Ruiz was arrested and charged with attempt murder and conspiracy. While the investigation is still very active, investigators believe this is an isolated incident.
