Here are the details that we are aware of at the time of posting: At 12:42 this morning, the Sacramento Police Department and the Sacramento Fire Department were dispatched to a report of an Auto vs Pedestrian incident in the 700 block of Arden Way.
When units arrived, there was debris across the westbound lanes of Arden Way in front of the Circle Six Market. A gray pickup truck was also discovered in the driveway of the market with a large trashcan wedged under the front end. There was significant damage to the the hood of the truck.
The victim was pronounced deceased on scene by paramedics.
Detectives from MCIU were called to the scene to conduct the investigation, SacPD stated. The cause of the collision remains under investigation. The driver remained at the scene and was found to not be under the influence. The roadway was re-opened at approximately 4 a.m.
