SACRAMENTO, Calif. (PSN) — Firefighters responded to an apartment fire in the 7200 block of Greenhaven just after 3 a.m. Tuesday, where crews encountered an exterior balcony fire that extended from a first-floor balcony to a second-floor balcony, according to the Sacramento Fire Department.
Captain Justin Sylvia, the department's Public Information Officer, said the fire did not extend into the residential living areas and no injuries were reported.
Fire crews checked the attic space to ensure the fire had not spread beyond the exterior portions of the structure. Officials confirmed there was no attic extension.
The fire’s only extension was to the second-floor balcony area. Firefighters also pulled ceiling material inside one of the rooms during overhaul operations to verify there was no hidden fire spread, leaving debris inside the residence as crews worked to fully clear the scene.
The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
