-SACRAMENTO, Calif. (PSN) — A suspect has been arrested in connection with the fatal shooting of a man in South Sacramento earlier this week, the Sacramento County Sheriff’s Office announced Wednesday.

Deputies responded around 4:30 p.m. Tuesday to 39th Street and Mascot Avenue, where they found an adult male suffering from multiple gunshot wounds. He was transported to the hospital but later died of his injuries, officials said.

Sheriff’s homicide detectives identified the suspect as 51-year-old Okouava Saelee, who allegedly argued with the victim before retrieving a firearm from his vehicle and shooting him several times. Investigators said Saelee then fled in his vehicle.

Detectives obtained a Ramey arrest warrant, and members of the Sheriff’s Major Crimes Bureau located and arrested Saelee in Sacramento on Wednesday. He was booked into the Sacramento County Main Jail, where he is being held without bail.

The victim’s identity will be released by the Sacramento County Coroner’s Office after next-of-kin notification.
