SACRAMENTO, Calif. (PSN) — A residential structure fire in the Arden area claimed the life of one adult male Sunday evening, authorities said.
Sacramento Metropolitan Fire District crews were dispatched to 4130 Pasadena Avenue shortly after the blaze was reported. Firefighters arrived to find the home fully engulfed in flames, with fire extending into the backyard and reaching two outbuildings.
During firefighting operations, crews discovered an adult male on the front porch of the home. He was pronounced dead at the scene. His identity has not been released pending notification of next of kin by the Sacramento County Coroner’s Office.
Firefighters were able to contain the blaze to the primary residence and one outbuilding, preventing further spread to neighboring properties.
No additional injuries have been reported.
Metro Fire’s Arson Investigation Unit remained on scene late Sunday to determine the cause of the fire. It is currently unknown whether the home was equipped with a working smoke alarm.
The Sacramento County Sheriff’s Office is assisting with the investigation.
Additional details will be released as they become available.
