Earlier Tuesday evening, the Sacramento Sheriff's Department and the Sacramento Fire Department responded to a shooting incident on 42nd Avenue, right next to Rainbow Park, in South Sacramento, where children were at play.

The incident occurred in the 3900 block of 42nd Avenue next to Rainbow Park around 5 p.m. Tuesday evening.

At least one person was shot and was transported to an area hospital, via paramedics, in unknown condition.

Green markers in the street indicated locations of bullet casings found.

According to reports, witness stated a black Lexus was the suspect vehicle and fled the area.
