THIS IS A DIRECT REPOST FROM THE SACRAMENTO POLICE DEPARTMENT MEDIA RELEASE
On April 22, 2021 at approximately 1:02 a.m., Sacramento Police Department patrol officers responded to the 2100 block of L St regarding a report of someone who had been shot.
When officers arrived on scene, they located two adult male victims who each sustained at least one gunshot wound. Both victims were transported to a local hospital where one victim succumbed to his injuries. The second victim is expected to survive.
Homicide detectives and crime scene investigators have responded to take over the investigation. At this time the motive is unknown, however detectives do believe that there was some type of altercation prior to the shooting. Detectives will be conducting a canvass of the area for witnesses and evidence. There is no suspect information to provide at this time.
The Sacramento County Coroner’s Office will release the identity of the victim after next of kin have been notified.
