Around 1:15 Tuesday afternoon, a subject driving an embezzled vehicle (in this case, a car not returned to rental agency) drove through the intersection of Franklin Boulevard at Fruitridge Road, activating a POD camera that alerted nearby officers.
The white Chevy Malibu was heading southbound on Franklin Boulevard from Fruitridge Road. Officers quickly caught up to the vehicle and followed it as it entered southbound Highway 99. Additional backup officers arrived along with Sac PD's helicopter "Air 1", at which point a felony traffic stop was executed on the right hand shoulder of southbound Highway 99 just before the Calvine Road exit.
The driver was compliant with officers orders and taken into custody without incident.
