A 24-year-old man has been arrested for a series of armed robberies in the North Sacramento area.
Since October, there have been eight armed robberies at various businesses in North Sacramento. Six of those robberies occurred between October 9th and November 21st on the 4100 block of Norwood Avenue. An additional robbery occurred on November 27th at a business on the 3700 block of Truxel Road.
During these robberies, the solo suspect displayed a semi-automatic handgun and demanded money from the employees. The suspect was described on multiple occasions wearing a distinctive black hooded sweatshirt with a camouflage type pattern. The suspect was also observed getting into a dark-colored sedan-type vehicle.
On December 7th at around 8:35 p.m., Sacramento police officers responded to an armed robbery at a business on the 3600 block of Northgate Boulevard. The police department believes this robbery to be related to the above-mentioned series, totaling eight robberies.
After conducting some follow-up, officers and detectives identified, located and arrested 24-year-old Keyzshawn Braxton at a home in the 4000 block of Taylor Street. Upon further investigation, the firearm that Braxton used in the robbery was located.
Braxton was arrested for five counts of robbery, including the December 7th incident, and four of other robberies in the series. Additional investigation is occurring related to the other robberies and who might be involved.
