SACRAMENTO (PSN)— A man was arrested early Saturday after a struggle with officers in downtown Sacramento, according to the Sacramento Police Department.

The incident occurred just after 2:15 a.m. near Front Street and L Street. Officers said they initially observed a man urinating on the side of a business and attempted to contact him. During that contact, the man charged at officers and tried to take one of them to the ground, leading to a brief struggle.

Police said two officers and the suspect sustained minor scrapes during the altercation.

We (PSN) observed officers placing the man in handcuffs on the ground as he continued to resist. The individual was seen striking his head against the sidewalk and later continued to struggle and kick while inside a patrol vehicle.

Officers requested a WRAP restraint device to better secure the man and prevent further injury. He was subsequently placed in the restraint and transported to the Sacramento County Main Jail.

Authorities have not released the suspect’s identity or potential charges. The incident remains under investigation.
