​SACRAMENTO, Calif. (PSN) — Multiple people were shot Saturday evening in the Arden-Arcade area, prompting a large law enforcement and emergency response near a busy commercial corridor, authorities said.

According to preliminary information from the Sacramento County Sheriff’s Office, deputies were clearing a festival at Howe Park when reports of gunfire emerged nearby. The shooting was reported in the parking lot of a The Home Depot in the 2000 block of Cottage Way.

Sheriff’s officials said there were reports of multiple victims and that deputies, along with outside agencies, responded to the scene.

The Sacramento Metropolitan Fire District said crews responded to what it described as a violent assault incident at 2201 Cottage Way. Fire personnel initiated triage and treatment upon arrival.

Four patients were transported to area hospitals, fire officials said. Two were classified as moderate injuries, and others with minor injuries.

Authorities have not released information about any suspects, and it was not immediately clear what led to the shooting.

The sheriff’s office is leading the investigation. Officials said no additional details were available as of Saturday night.

Per Sheriff radio traffic, Solana units have subjects in custody from the suspect vehicle.

ADDITIONAL VICTIMS

Via radio traffic, we have heard unconfirmed reports of additional victims showing up at the Starbucks at Howe and Arden, Kaiser South, and Sutter General.

9:36 PM- ADDITIONAL CASSINGS LOCATED

According to Sheriff radio traffic, additional casings have been located on Cottage, indicating another shooter firing south, w/ related damage to some fencing.

10:02 PM- ADDITIONAL SUSPECTS IN CUSTODY

We’re hearing reports that additional suspects are in custody with Solano units, who had fled the traffic stop. SacSherrif units are en route to collect said suspects and return them to Sac for questioning.

10:13 PM- SSO K9 WITH SOLANO UNITS | ID’ING SUSPECTS

Per radio traffic, SSO (Sac Sheriff Office) K9 is out with Solano units. Confirms they have four detainees. They are working on positively id’ing the driver and one of the shooters. Per radio traffic, video confirms there were two shooters.

10:39 PM- RELATED FIGHT AT MSJ

SSO received reports that a related fight has broken out at Mercy San Juan Hospital. Units were in route when a follow-up call came in stating all combatants had dispersed.
